The University Hospitals Outpatient Rehabilitation & Aquatic Center offers convenient, state-of-the-art physical, occupational, aquatic and speech therapy. Like most people, you value being able to take care of yourself and therapy can help. Whether you are trying to manage the symptoms of a long-term illness or just want to improve your general health and mobility, therapy may help you to reach your goals and maintain your independence. In addition to helping the patient, therapy can also prove beneficial to caregivers—by providing easier methods for performing their caregiving responsibilities. You don’t have to have surgery or a debilitating disease to benefit from therapy.

Rehabilitation Services:
Aquatic Therapy: Consisting of an exercise program that is performed in the water. Aquatic therapy uses the physical properties of water to assist in patient healing and exercise performance. Because it is nearly gravity-free, aquatic exercise is the preferred therapy for many medical conditions. The therapy pool also allows barrier-free entry by raising and lowering the floor to meet the unique needs of each patient..
Physical Therapy: Improving the body by building strength, improving mobility and developing greater confidence through special exercises and physical training.
Occupational Therapy: Assisting patient to become as independent as possible in daily living skills such as dressing and bathing through special exercises and activities.
Speech Therapy: Helping patients develop skills that enable them to think and express themselves more clearly. Speech Therapy also helps patients with swallowing disorders and can teach specialized exercises and training to swallow safely.
